As a member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the general care and maintenance of assigned areas and equipment. Your day-to-day interactions will vary and no two days are alike. Additional duty areas for the maintenance staff will include semi-skilled maintenance work requiring performance of tasks associated with the electrical, plumbing, building, and mechanical trades.


Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • 40 hours per week with an on-call rotation schedule and occasional overtime

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use your technical know-how and mechanical aptitude to diagnose and troubleshoot problems and replace or repair parts
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting communal areas and exterior walls
  • Confidently apply the appropriate hand /power tools, electric and volt meters, and material handling equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair/replace
  • Proactively perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities to ensure they are up to standards
  • Collecting, analyzing and summarizing maintenance-related information and trends to drive efficiencies, streamline processes, and support business decisions

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
  • Grounds-keeping of outdoor areas in need of maintenance
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with other team members and in a pleasant manner
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building
  • Ability to work in tight and/or elevated locations (lifts, rooftops, ladders)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Driver's License

  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold environments

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to reach and grasp
  • Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders
