Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of equipment and facilities in a flexible packaging plant, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and assisting with equipment changeovers and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and fixing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems on packaging equipment and plant infrastructure.
Preventative Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
Equipment Changeovers: Assisting with transitioning between different product runs or formats.
Record Keeping: Documenting maintenance work performed, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
Safety: Adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
Communication: Communicating effectively with other team members, especially during shift changes.
Continuous Improvement: Contributing to identifying and implementing solutions for recurring issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience.
Troubleshooting: Strong independent troubleshooting skills are essential.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as understanding of schematics and technical manuals.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and fix complex issues independently.
Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with other team members.
Physical Demands: Many roles require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing, as well as lifting or moving items over 50lbs.
Other Requirements: Reading and interpreting machine drawings. Working with PLCs, servo motors, and industrial networks.
Knowledge of gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and cylinders.
