The Grand Rapids Housing Commission is actively seeking a full-time maintenance technician to work first shift.
What You'll Do:
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Responding to maintenance requests with speed and skill
- Keeping our facilities safe, functional, and looking sharp
- Work independently and as part of a supportive team
What You Bring:
- A hands-on problem solver with a can-do attitude
- Experience in general maintenance or a skilled trade
- Knowledge of tools, safety procedures, and repair techniques
- Someone who takes pride in fixing what others can't
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years' experience
- Knowledge of state and local, building, and electrical codes or ADA requirements
- Knowledge of trade skills, methods, materials tools, and equipment used in maintaining dwelling and no-dwelling facilities
