Job Description
- Perform preventative maintenance, such as lubricating, and changing belts and filters on mechanical equipment such as fans, pumps, and motors
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Maintain piping systems throughout the facility, copper, black iron, and PVC
- Work independently or with fellow technicians to identify system issues and their root causes; suggest areas for improvement
- Support engineers with new designs and installations of product support equipment, machinery, and systems
- Conduct routine or special inspections to determine maintenance requirements and prevent breakdowns of facility equipment and unique machinery
- Install and maintain a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, soldering, brazing, or cemented joints, and hand tools
- Read and interpret prints, diagrams, specifications, manufacturer manuals, and drawings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Must be able to solder copper piping (will be tested)
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to work from a ladder and in elevated work areas\
- Ability to repeatably lift 45 pounds throughout a work shift
- Working knowledge of facility equipment such as cooling towers, chillers, air handlers and electrical systems is a plus
- Experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment is a plus
- Basic electrical skills including motor control, electrical distribution, and machinery installation is a plus
- Two-year technical degree is
