Our beautiful 70‑acre campus in Pompano Beach is conveniently located near major highways and transportation options.About the RoleAs a Maintenance Technician, you will complete repair work orders in accordance with applicable building codes and the standards of the Maintenance Department. You will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or their delegate, supporting the upkeep and functionality of our 70‑acre Life Plan Community.This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.What We're Looking For3+ years of experience as a Maintenance MechanicHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders, squat, and stand for up to 8 hoursAbility to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat indoors and outdoors20/20 vision with corrective lensesValid Florida driver's licenseProficiency with hand and power toolsAbility to communicate, read, and write effectively in EnglishAbility to handle difficult situations professionallyJob ResponsibilitiesComplete maintenance repair work orders to code and departmental standardsMaintain clean and safe work areas dailyMaintain all equipment and tools provided by John Knox VillageSecure and lock work areas to ensure safety of , visitors, and staffAssist with supply orders and communicate material needs to the managerCommunicate with trades and subcontractors as needed and directedPerform basic carpentry (door/window repair, picture/mirror hanging, etc.)Perform basic plumbing repairs (faucets, commodes, water heaters, etc.)Perform basic electrical work (wiring, fixture replacement, etc.)Conduct building inspections as requiredMove furniture and appliancesOperate motorized equipment after proper trainingRemain on property during emergencies (e.g., hurricanes)Contribute to a positive team environmentPerform other duties as assignedBenefitsIf you are ready to be the change and contribute to a safe and supportive atmosphere, this role is the ideal next step for you.
