About the Role:

The Maintenance Tech PM shift at Tucson Hotel Management, LLC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of hotel facilities during the afternoon and evening hours. This position focuses on performing preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and enhance guest satisfaction by maintaining a safe, clean, and fully functional environment. The Maintenance Tech will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, contributing directly to the overall operational efficiency of the hotel. Collaboration with other departments is essential to prioritize maintenance requests and respond promptly to urgent issues. Ultimately, this role supports the hotel’s commitment to providing exceptional accommodation and food services by maintaining high standards of facility reliability and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance work, preferably in the hospitality or accommodation industry.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate maintenance equipment safely.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to hotel operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience working in a hotel or similar accommodation environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other hotel equipment during the PM shift to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, diagnosing issues and implementing effective repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs and report findings to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on each task.
  • Collaborate with the day shift maintenance team and other hotel departments to ensure seamless communication and continuity of maintenance operations.

Skills:

The required skills such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge are applied daily to diagnose and repair various hotel systems, ensuring continuous operation and guest comfort. Reading technical manuals and blueprints allows the Maintenance Tech to understand complex equipment and perform precise repairs. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with other departments and documenting maintenance activities clearly and accurately. skills like CMMS experience enhance efficiency by streamlining work order management and tracking maintenance history. Additionally, strong troubleshooting abilities enable the technician to quickly identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions, minimizing downtime and maintaining safety standards.
