We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in plastic injection molding, processing equipment, and general building/facility maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role — not a desk job. You’ll work directly on the production floor and throughout the facility, leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring our operation runs safely and efficiently.

This position oversees and performs maintenance and repairs on production machinery, plant equipment, and the facility, including general building systems and grounds as needed.

Due to the nature of this role, the weekly schedule may vary based on department needs. While hours are generally day shift, flexibility is required off-shift or weekend projects.

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates the Maintenance Department and performs Maintenance Technician duties including installations and repairs. Maintains and oversees machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, electrical systems, piping, and physical structures. Oversees and directs building and facility maintenance by assigning, coordinating, and ensuring completion of repairs to the facility and grounds, including weather-related maintenance such as leaf removal, snow removal, and general exterior upkeep, by performing the following duties:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates work orders and schedules work to be done.
  • Reviews manufacturers’ service manuals to determine optimum frequency of preventative maintenance and setup in computer system.
  • Completes all daily scheduled preventive maintenance in IQMS.
  • Updates IQMS accordingly.
  • Maintain records of planned and completed maintenance in the computer system.
  • Confer with the Production Manager to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operation of establishment.
  • Estimate costs of parts and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Monitors machines and equipment to maintain efficiency and possibly catch early signs of wear and/or malfunction.
  • Discuss any potential concerns with the Production Manager.
  • Lubricates and cleans shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls instruments.
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as transformers and wirings, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Oversees, assigns, and coordinates maintenance of the facility’s physical structure, building systems, and grounds, assigning tasks as needed and ensuring all repairs and weather-related maintenance such as snow removal, ice control, leaf removal, and site cleanup are completed to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Installs special function and structural parts in devices.
  • Plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery or buildings.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
  • Must be available for overtime and schedule adjustments as needed to support operations, including during plant shutdowns.
