Job Description

Position Purpose: Implement maintenance work programs and schedule maintenance activities to assist production in meeting its objectives by reducing equipment failures and non-productive downtime. Develop, train and motivate hourly personnel to meet the maintenance requirements.


Major Responsibilities:

  1. Work with Maintenance Superintendent to organize and implement maintenance work programs to ensure that production operations remain continuous with minimized downtime.
  2. Supervise, train and motivate a competent workforce to provide ongoing plant equipment maintenance and repair and complete construction projects.
  3. Maintain accurate equipment history files, downtime records, preventive maintenance time schedules, employee attendance and timeclock.
  4. Report situations involving major equipment breakdowns to the Maintenance Superintendent.
  5. Develop and audit quality control standards.
  6. Maintain and adhere to ISO standards, including but not limited to, the Quality Policy Statement as well as the Quality Control Procedures Manual.
  7. Conduct safety meeting and daily safety contacts.
  8. Investigate and report on all near misses and injuries and develop a corrective action plan when necessary.
  9. Conduct annual review of Right-To-Know material.
  10. Maintain showcase housekeeping.
  11. Operate efficiently to control direct labor and material costs.
  12. Encourage cost reduction ideas.
  13. Administer fairly, company and personnel policies.
  14. Employ good human relations skills.
  15. Train and motivate a competent workforce.
  16. Understand and apply terms of the labor agreement as needed.


Requirements:


  • Two-year degree or equivalent education/experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assess the condition of equipment for mechanical and/or electrical repair and maintenance.
  • Proven supervisory and management skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in foundry or heavy industrial setting
