Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Athens / Tanner, AL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (Minimal Overtime)

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing maintenance personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment through execution of maintenance strategies while fostering a positive and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day supervision to maintenance team members
  • Execute planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and promote a strong safety culture
  • Address employee performance issues promptly and effectively
  • Maintain consistent communication with employees on the shop floor and respond to concerns in a timely manner
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts to support production goals and minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical equipment issues
  • Maintain organized and efficient work areas
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance principles and practices
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving
  • Strong communication, organization, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

  • Associate degree or technical certification
  • Experience in heavy industry (e.g., steel, metals, forging, mill, or similar environments)
