2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Supervisor – Manufacturing

Rochelle, IL | Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM + Every Other Saturday

A leading manufacturer in Rochelle, IL is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our second-shift maintenance operations. Reporting directly to the Department Manager, this position is ideal for a proven leader with strong technical expertise in equipment maintenance, a safety-first mindset, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Motivate: Supervise, train, and coach a team of maintenance technicians to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

• Troubleshooting Expertise: Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on critical industrial production machinery and equipment.

• Preventive Maintenance: Design and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

• Ensure Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and internal safety standards.

• Rapid Response: Coordinate and assist with emergency breakdowns to minimize production disruption.

• Inventory Oversight: Manage spare parts inventory, order critical components, and control maintenance budgets.

• Optimize Processes: Identify and implement reliability and efficiency improvements to reduce costs and maximize uptime.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed records in CMMS software, including service logs, inspections, and compliance reports.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to support smooth, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or steel environment.

• 2+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience.

• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Welding, fabrication, and millwright experience is highly desirable.

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience using CMMS systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to safety and working knowledge of OSHA standards.
