Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring the effective troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment in a packaging manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for upholding safety, quality, and production efficiency to meet and support the facility's overall OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) goals.

Must have Injection Molding experience for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, plan, and issue work orders to maintenance team members for equipment modifications, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with production and scheduling departments to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor, assisting with troubleshooting and complex equipment repairs.
  • Enforce plant rules, monitor team attendance, and provide corrective action as needed.
  • Generate maintenance logs and OEE documents to track and analyze key operational metrics.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of work areas, tools, and equipment. Facilitate safety training to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for necessary materials, supplies, tools, and replacement parts. You may also be responsible for maintaining the spare parts inventory.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to discuss products and coordinate project completion.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing practices, including Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, and 8D Problem Analysis.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, motivating the team to achieve productivity targets and performance standards.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to recommend improvements for plant operations, OEE, and maintenance problem resolution.
  • Plan and coordinate the installation and removal of plant equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs, including safety, quality, and production.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Maintenance Manager as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and/or technical school certification.
  • 7-10 years of Maintenance Supervisor experience in a packaging or manufacturing facility.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading/supervising in a manufacturing operation.
  • Proven experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Previous experience working in a Lean environment is .
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to be a team player.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • SAP knowledge is .
