Summary: Assists in the day-to-day operations of the production shift. Oversees and assists in creating a smooth transition between other shifts through scheduling of all Technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
*Direct supervision of all maintenance and set-up personnel.
*Responsible for evaluating, training, disciplining, and recruiting. Also develop predictive and preventive maintenance.
*Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
*Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
*Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
*Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
*Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
*Supervises the maintenance department providing clear plans and assignments of duties across all three shifts and suggesting discipline when necessary.
*Consults with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to prioritize departmental duties and assignments.
*Required to prepare and administer employee performance evaluations through the Manufacturing Engineering Manager assessing skills, performance, and recommendations for training or upgrading of skills.
*Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program that improves equipment and process performance.

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills:
Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail
