REPORTS TO: Division Manager
PURPOSE:
Responsible for coordinating and supervising activities in the planning, layout, installing, repairing and maintaining production equipment, building equipment, and facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain discipline, morale, harmonious personnel relations and handle complaints and grievances in accordance with company policy; conduct employee performance evaluations; make effective recommendations for increases, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Plan, promote, and organize training activities for all maintenance personnel.
- Plan, layout and assign work according to production requirements, maintenance schedule and individual skills and abilities for most efficient operation; follow setup and progress of work; anticipate or investigate delays or inadequate performance and take corrective action within limits of established practice.
- Arrange for equipment, materials and supplies to be available for work assignments; maintain quality and quantity of maintenance work; assist and instruct personnel as necessary to ensure proper flow of work through department.
- Install new or relocate existing machinery, equipment and other accessories; rebuild existing or acquired machinery, equipment and other accessories; install, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other production equipment, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and other service systems; tear down, troubleshoot, reassemble, repair or replace worn or defective parts, maintain plant areas, lunchroom, restroom, grounds, and other areas.
- Maintain proactive and documented preventative maintenance program to maximize machine uptime; insure preventive maintenance is performed on all machinery, equipment, services.
- Maintain machine cleanliness by investigating oil leaks, replacing oil socks & drip pans, keeping tools and miscellaneous Items off machines, keeping machine components free of oil & grease.
- Perform and coordinate activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
- Confer with management, engineering, and production personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Purchase tools, hardware, fabricating materials, equipment, and the like; contact supplier; maintain records of supplier sources and purchasing history; investigate competitive costs.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:
- High School graduate – Technical school certification in industrial maintenance .
- Must be able to perform basic Math.
- Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience – preferably in molding operations.
- Experience operating mills, lathes, drill presses to machine and / or repair components for molds and fixtures.
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
- May require additional outside training classes or schooling.
- Must have good attendance and be reliable.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 bs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
