Summary

The Maintenance Planner / Parts Room Clerk supports the reliability and efficiency of plant operations by organizing maintenance activities and managing parts inventory. This dual-role ensures that preventative and corrective maintenance is properly scheduled, documented, and executed while maintaining an organized and well-stocked parts room.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

· Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery

· Plan and prioritize work orders based on urgency, labor availability, and production schedule

· Coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime

· Track maintenance KPIs such as PM completion rate, response times, and downtime hours

Parts Room & Inventory

· Receive, label, store, and issue maintenance parts, tools, and supplies

· Maintain inventory records and reorder parts to ensure adequate stock levels

· Organize parts room for easy accessibility and compliance with 5S standards

· Verify delivery receipts and manage parts usage against work orders

Documentation & Compliance

· Maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) data integrity

· Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance work, including labor, parts, and equipment usage

· Assist with equipment manuals, SOPs, and safety documentation

Supervisory Responsibilities

N/A

Education and /or Experience

· High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification

· Experience in manufacturing environment is required

· 2+ years in maintenance planning, parts room, or CMMS experience in a manufacturing environment

· Familiarity with industrial equipment, tools, and mechanical components

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms (e.g., MP2, Fiix, eMaint)

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/shop conditions

Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production dockets, maintenance work orders, customer orders. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and vibration.
