Maintenance Planner in Bridgeton

Job DescriptionJob Description Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a chemical manufacturing company, is seeking for a Maintenance Planner to join their dynamic team.

Location: Upper Deerfield, NJ  
Salary Range: $35-$38 per hour
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm with OT

Overview: The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of maintenance work. This position involves job planning, estimating, and coordinating parts and equipment for maintenance work orders. The planner is responsible for ensuring that all necessary resources are available for maintenance tasks, and provides documentation to facilitate efficient evaluation and control of the maintenance function.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Perform job duties safely and responsibly, adhering to established procedures and policies, and report any unsafe acts observed in the workplace.  
  • Collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels, particularly operators, to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.  
  • Daily review of work notifications and orders, discussing priorities with the Maintenance Supervisor and Scheduler.  
  • Plan preventive and requested maintenance work based on priority.  
  • Interface with SAP-CMMS to maintain accurate coding structures, status consistency, and system integrity.  
  • Evaluate new work notifications to determine the appropriate craft type for assignment.  
  • Conduct pre-job walk downs to assess resources and special needs for each task, estimating materials, crew size, and duration.  
  • Prepare comprehensive job plan packages, including all required information, safety analyses, and documentation for safe and efficient work execution.  
  • Assess planned scopes to ensure they align with corrective solutions based on historical data and current conditions, modifying plans as necessary.  
  • Identify the need for vendor support and include relevant details in work order packages.  
  • Review engineering drawings necessary for task completion and provide field sketches where applicable.  
  • Ensure that kitted materials are delivered to the staging area before work begins.  
  • Include separate job steps for post-maintenance testing when multiple crafts are involved.  
  • Maintain the job package library, updating it regularly based on feedback.  
  • Recommend spare parts for stocking to assist in sourcing and minimize excess inventory.  
  • Attend weekly Planning/Scheduling meetings with Operations, Maintenance, and Scheduler.  
  • Ensure all necessary permits are approved and lockouts are in place before work commences.  
  • Order and requisition materials and supplies through vendors and internal contacts.  
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the TPM program, focusing on predictive and preventative maintenance.  
  • Ensure timely calibration reporting and record-keeping by teammates.  
  • Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with PPE and safety procedures.  
  • Maintain records of audits and direct actions to address deficiencies.  
  • Uphold a safe and clean working environment by following all procedures and regulations.  
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.  

Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • 5-10 years of maintenance experience; 5 years in maintenance planning .  
  • Ability to instruct others on maintenance and planning processes.  
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  
  • High precision in working with minimum tolerances.  
  • Basic math skills, including working with numbers, angles, shapes, areas, and volumes.  
  • Familiarity with blueprint components such as scales, symbols, and dimensions.  
  • Understanding of plant processes and their impact on inventory accuracy and financial performance.  
  • Proficient in computers, SAP, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.  
  • Experience with a Computer Managed Maintenance System (CMMS); SAP .

  • Marshall Institute - Effective Planning & Scheduling
