Maintenance & Packaging Line Supervisor in Springfield

Applied Chemistries is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to oversee the setup, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our bottling and packaging operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, solving mechanical problems, improving efficiency, and taking ownership of equipment and production processes. This is not a desk job — we are looking for a “doer” who can work alongside the team and help build systems that improve production flow, reliability, and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize bottling and packaging lines
- Reduce downtime, setup time, and cycle time through process improvements
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on:

- bottling equipment
- filling systems
- cappers
- labelers
- conveyors
- pumps
- mixers
- tanks
- air compressors
- related production equipment
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for facility and production equipment
- Help design and improve production layouts, workflow, and material movement
- Document production setups, changeovers, machine settings, and workflows for repeatable future production
- Train and oversee temporary and production labor as needed
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and process improvements
- Coordinate with production management to improve efficiency and scheduling
- Maintain safe and organized work areas
- Help identify bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working in manufacturing, packaging, bottling, or industrial production environments
- Experience setting up and maintaining production equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supervising or directing production employees or temp labor
- Welding, fabrication, electrical, pneumatic, or PLC experience is a plus
- Forklift experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work around industrial equipment
