Maintenance Operative\nSalary:£32,325 (35-hour week)\n\nAre you hands-on, solution-focused, and passionate about making homes safer and healthier? At Hightown, we are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our Healthy Homes team - helping us deliver high-quality repairs and remedial work that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.\n\nThis is more than just a maintenance role. You will be at the frontline of improving living conditions, tackling issues like damp and mould, and ensuring our properties meet the highest standards of safety and comfort.\n\nWhat You Will Be Doing\n\nProperty Repairs & Remediation\n\nCarry out essential repairs and remedial work, including mould treatment and prevention using specialist techniques.\nReplace and repair plasterboard, complete patch repairs, and apply anti-mould products in line with COSHH regulations.\nPerform finishing carpentry and joinery tasks - from fitting door frames to installing trim and moulding.\nUse a range of hand and power tools to build, install, and maintain fixtures like cabinets, doors, and windows.\nMaintain stock levels and equipment, ensuring timely purchases and efficient service delivery.\n\nHealth & Safety \n\nIdentify and assess hazards using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).\nReport Category 1 and 2 hazards promptly, documenting findings with before-and-after photos.\nProvide guidance to staff on repairs and safety improvements when needed.\nEnsure all work complies with Hightown’s health and safety policies and relevant legislation.
\n\nCustomer-Focused Service\n\nDeliver a first-time fix approach wherever possible, ensuring every visit reflects Hightown’s commitment to excellent customer service.\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with , resolving issues and fostering a positive brand image. \n\nEstate Standards & Efficiency\n\nReport communal issues such as fire safety risks, grounds maintenance concerns, and cleaning standards.\nPlan routes efficiently to minimise travel time and maximise productivity.\nMaintain your works van to a high standard and ensure all receipts and records are submitted accurately. \n\nWhat You Will Bring\n\nProven experience in property maintenance, carpentry, or a similar trade.\nStrong understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH and HHSRS.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.\nAbility to work independently and manage time effectively.\nCommitment to delivering outstanding customer service.Why Join Hightown?\n\nAt Hightown, we are proud to provide safe, secure, and welcoming homes.
