Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Company Introduction: G&C Food Distributors is a leading re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. We store and deliver more than 4,000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 28 states and 35 countries internationally.

Location: Syracuse, NY

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is part of a team of individuals that provides mechanical and facility support to the Operations Department. The team member performs a variety of functions as needed in a cold storage warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively evaluate equipment, recommend, and perform appropriate, cost-effective, quality repairs, and maintain a variety of industrial equipment.
• Repair pump jacks, forklifts, electrical pallet jacks, and reach trucks
• Perform preventative maintenance of a variety of machines
• Battery changes
• Basic facility repairs (minor construction, minor plumbing, etc.)
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Perform functions with a strong attention to detail
• Communicate regularly by phone and in person with team members, part-time representatives, and other internal and external customers
• Exhibit a professional demeanor and promote goodwill between the Company and customers by providing excellent customer service
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in a related field recommended
