Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Springfield, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | On-site

Job Summary
A well-established manufacturing facility in Springfield, NJ is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facility equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective solutions

Repair and maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and automated machinery

Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential issues before failures occur

Assist with installation, setup, and modification of machinery
-
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
-
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability
Qualifications & Skills

2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
-
Working knowledge of electrical systems (motors, sensors, control panels )

Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus

Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in an industrial environment
Experience

Manufacturing, packaging, or plastics industry experience

PLC troubleshooting exposure (not required, but a plus)

Preventive maintenance program experience
