Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Maintenance Mechanic with expertise in injection molding systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our advanced injection molding equipment and related systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines, hydraulic systems, and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in injection molding machines and related systems.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and maintain detailed maintenance logs and records.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new injection molding equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operators and other team members regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in injection molding technology and maintenance techniques.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and perform necessary repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers when specialized expertise or support is required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or associate's degree in mechanical engineering or related field .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an injection molding environment.
- Extensive knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong proficiency in hydraulic systems, including maintenance, repair, and optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with PLC systems and basic programming skills is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
