Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMechanic I Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The Maintenance Mechanic is a key member of the operations team. This position is critical to the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be able to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair activities in both the mechanical and electrical disciplines on processing equipment that is in a wet and dry manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a desire to learn and develop his or her technical skills to keep current with new technology and changing operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, breakdown, and repairs.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and natural gas fired equipment to ensure the plant is operating at peak efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and complete complex repairs to equipment.
- Effectively communicate problems with equipment to other employees and/or vendors.
- Use hand and power tools properly and safely.
- Interpret basic drawings and schematics.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Maintenance or related experience with a working knowledge of maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work all shifts, and willing to work overtime as needed.
- Basic mathematical and English skills.
- Good decision-making; can work independently of others.
- Understanding of electrical theory and its applications. This includes both industrial and low-voltage electricity a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC components a plus
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation, e.g., pumps, valves, actuators, flow meters, bearings, belts, fasteners, etc.
- Understanding of basic pneumatic control systems.
- Understanding the basics of hydraulic theory and its applications.
- Understanding the basics of mechanical piping systems.
- Maintenance of boiler and steam systems.
- Maintenance of air compressors and pneumatic/fluidic system
- Fabrication skills required including MIG, TIG and stick welding.
- Knowledge of bearings, aligning, chains, sprockets and rigging.
- Knowledge of pumps including seal replacement and impeller alignment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing maintenance
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Maintenance/ Electrical certifications are a plus.
The hourly pay for this position is $25/hr. - $30/hr. USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, and labor markets.
