Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice to assist with the optimal functioning of all equipment and machines at our Northeast Philadelphia facility. This position will begin as a 6 month assignment with the potential to become permanent.

The maintenance mechanic apprentice's responsibilities include identifying faulty equipment, making relevant adjustments to machinery, carrying out maintenance tasks and PM's as assigned, communicating clearly to team and to your manager, and maintaining technical knowledge while always looking to increase your skill set.

A successful candidate should have a passion for understanding how things work and have sharp senses that help you locate minor faults quickly. Be a self-starter, always finding something to PM or repair.

Remain informed on developments in their field. Must be willing to go to training off campus to help improve oneself and support the betterment of the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Performing inventory and stock checks for required materials, parts, and equipment
  • Collecting and analyzing data for written reports
  • Attending daily meetings and scheduling training workshops where required
  • Sourcing replacement parts and liaising with vendors
  • Controlling downtime by communicating with staff and implementing contingency measures
  • Ensuring all procedures and processes adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Support operations and the company in any facet necessary
  • Good teamwork skills with a positive attitude
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school degree or GED is
  • Trade skills in one or more of the following: welding, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, forklifts, building construction, conveyor
  • Ability to interpret and understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment blueprints
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial equipment mechanics
