Job Summary
Position requires the knowledge and ability to troubleshoot effectively and efficiently, repair, install and maintain production, manufacturing, and building and support equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Understand and interpret written and oral instructions, comprehend, and make inferences from written material, read, and interpret machine and building blueprints
- Complete work orders in an accurate and timely manner
- Responsible for all machine maintenance with safety and functionality as a focus
- Identify machine parts needed for repair or stocking and inform MRO Buyer
- Perform work from an aerial platform scissors or boom lift in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
- Identify and report problems and possible solutions regarding the efficiency and functionality of production assets
- Assist electricians, when necessary, with the mechanical aspects of the job
- Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
- Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
- Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
- Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
- Record and report parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary
- Record and report repairs and maintenance performed
- Perform buildings and grounds maintenance as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years as a maintenance mechanic or performing maintenance work as part of a maintenance department
Qualifications:
- Completion of a mechanical state apprenticeship program
- Electrical knowledge/machine controls experience

- Must work in a safe, clean and ethical manner at all times
- Occasional travel off-site for the purpose of:
- Training and information gathering to support the implementation of new production equipment
- Obtaining parts to get machines and equipment back into production
- Completion of training and applicable certification for forklift, high lift, boom lift, and lock out tagout
- Must work well with others
- Effective communicator, and able to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently
- Must possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn and have good attendance
