Toft Dairy is currently looking to fill a full-time General Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate for the position will work Monday-Friday with a typical day starting at 7am until approximately 4pm. We are seeking a permanent employee who after the 60-day probationary period will be eligible for an increase in pay based on job performance and learning and medical insurance coverage (Medical Mutual). After the 90-day probational period employees are offered supplemental insurance elections for vision and dental through Principal and/or AFLAC. Additionally, team members are eligible for 401K retirement plan day one with company match after 6 months of employment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities both regular and preventative, scheduled and unplanned

Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines

Diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing and making adjustments as necessary

Read and interpret equipment and operation manuals

Perform general building, plant and ground maintenance

Comply with all safety regulations and workplace rules

Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to daily activities

Maintain clean and orderly work areas

Adhere to company policies, standard procedures and safety guidelines

Operate forklift and hydraulic working platforms as needed

Provide support and assist with additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

High school diploma or GED is required

Experience in food manufacturing or related field is recommended, but not required

Refrigeration knowledge is desired, but again not required

Strong math, reading, communication and organizational skills

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude

Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion

Ability to be a team player and communicate well with others

Individually motivated

Problem solver

Punctual

Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend

Must be able to go up and down platform stairs and ladders

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Must be able to work in a wet environment and occasionally go into the freezers

May occasionally be exposed to chemicals

Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and holidays as required; occasional weekends
