About the Role:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and repairing complex machinery such as pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems. The Maintenance Mechanic will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards, contributing directly to the overall productivity and quality of the manufacturing process. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing mechanical system failures and implementing effective solutions promptly. Ultimately, the Maintenance Mechanic ensures that all mechanical systems operate reliably to support the company’s manufacturing goals in Huntersville, NC.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with mechanical systems including pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and climb ladders as part of daily maintenance duties.
  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when necessary to meet production demands.

Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repair.
  • Experience specifically within the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize production downtime and maintain safety compliance.
  • Operate forklifts and climb ladders safely to access equipment and parts as needed during maintenance tasks.
  • Work overtime as required to support urgent maintenance needs and production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment status to support continuous improvement efforts.

The required skills such as working with pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems are essential for diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures that could disrupt production. Proficiency in climbing ladders and operating forklifts ensures safe and efficient access to equipment and materials during maintenance tasks.
