Maintenance Technician – Machinery
(Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery & support equipment for a manufacturing facility.)
Location: Alsip, IL
Shift: Night Shift (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM) Day Shift (5:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Pay: $28+/hr DOE
Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining bag machinery and support equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Troubleshoot & perform repairs on bag machinery and support equipment.
✔️ Follow all safe work procedures, including Lock Out / Tag Out & Confined Space.
✔️ Conduct scheduled and emergency maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
✔️ Report unresolved machine defects to the Maintenance Manager.
✔️ Maintain job site cleanliness and uphold safety standards.
✔️ Assist fellow mechanics & employees with repair and troubleshooting tasks.
✔️ Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
✔️ Support process improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency.
✔️ Operate forklift equipment as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
✔️ 5+ years of experience in maintenance/production environments.
✔️ High School Diploma or GED (Technical Degree ).
✔️ Strong electrical background (480V 3-phase/machine controls ).
✔️ Experience with VFD Drives & PLCs a plus.
✔️ Background in manufacturing methods & process improvement programs.
✔️ Familiarity with OSHA & GMP standards.
✔️ Experience with troubleshooting mechanical & electrical systems.
✔️ Welding, pipefitting, machine assembly, and installation experience .
✔️ Forklift operation experience.
