Chicago White Metal Casting (CWM) is an industry leader in die casting and precision manufacturing. We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic. We're seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and making a real impact.
Job purpose:
Responsible for maintenance, installation, effective evaluation and repair of production equipment and infrastructure.
Wage Scale: $22.00 - $26.00/hour
Essential Functions:
- Effectively evaluates machine performance and performs or recommends repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance.
- Completes repairs on infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic deficiencies of production equipment with some supervision.
- Welds and follows safe welding practices.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Interprets and utilizes electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic drawings of production equipment with some supervision.
- Utilizes hand tools, power tools, and hoists/cranes to repair and maintain production equipment.
- Utilizes calipers, micrometers and other gauges to evaluate production equipment components.
- Keeps work area clean of debris and safety hazards.
- May be trained and assigned to perform Temperature Controller Calibration and Correction of Temperature Controllers Out of Tolerance.
- May be trained and assigned to operate a forklift.
- May be trained and assigned to perform Machine Qualification Checks.
- May be trained and assigned to perform Gooseneck replacement.
Education, Experience and Competencies
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
- Has been trained and is capable of completing Preventive Maintenance Forms for production equipment.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate capability of using hand and power tools.
- Understands safety policies, quality policy and environmental policies.
