Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic - Day Shift
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Position Status: Full Time
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment machinery. This includes mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal production efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment including press brakes, punch presses, roll formers, HVAC systems, and conveyor systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines operate effectively and comply with safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform corrective repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with production staff to address machinery concerns and minimize downtime.
- Assist with building maintenance tasks such as lighting, plumbing, and HVAC support.
- Always adhere to company safety protocols and OSHA standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades and modifications for enhanced reliability and efficiency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- N/A
REASONING ABILITY:
- Good communication skills, must be able to read and write in English to update preventive maintenance sheets, work with technical support via phone and respond to emails.
- Knowledgeable with using a multimeter to check AC & DC voltage.
- Familiarity with power tools, forklift, and sky jacks.
- Must be able to work alone on tasks that only require 1 person.
SKILLS:
- English but Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5 years minimum maintenance dept. experience
- Must be knowledgeable with using a multi meter to check AC & DC voltage.
- Familiar with using power tools, forklifts, and skyjacks
- Experience with Pressurized Hydraulic units
- Good communication skills, must be able to read & write in English to update PM sheets, work with technical support over the phone, and respond to emails.
