Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Employee will be cross-trained to fulfill one or more functions and responsibilities of the Maintenance Department and must be able to participate in job rotation as the supervisor sees fit per business needs. Department employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Industrial Machines and Food Equipment – Responsible for repairs and knowledge of machinery and equipment within the facility.

Welding – Basic knowledge of welding and fabricating to make repairs and modifications as needed within the facility.

Mechanical Knowledge – General tasks in basic mechanical systems.

Motors and Controls – Must have experience and a willingness to learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical motors and control systems.

Troubleshooting – Must have the capability to troubleshoot electrical and programming issues (motors, gearboxes, drives, sensors, photo-eyes, contactors, etc.).

Preventative Maintenance – Responsible for maintaining equipment and servicing equipment and facilities to avoid potential breakdowns and other maintenance-related issues.

Plumbing – Responsible for general plumbing as it pertains to PMs and repairs (snaking drains, plumbing hookups for equipment, plumbing removal, operation of pipe threader, etc.).

Wastewater Treatment – Experienced in wastewater treatment (reporting, logging data, administering chemicals as needed, repairing wastewater equipment and its operation).

Time Management – Must be able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Electrical Work – Responsible for bending conduit, pulling wire, and other electrical-type work.

Knowledge – All employees are responsible for having complete knowledge and capabilities of all job descriptions listed above.

Management – All employees are responsible for helping manage other maintenance employees’ job tasks, time, and work schedules when the Maintenance Manager is away or unavailable.

Paperwork – All employees are responsible for completing the necessary paperwork when completing work orders and performing PMs.
All employees are responsible for keeping their work areas clean and organized throughout and at the end of their shift. All sanitation and safety regulations must be followed when cleaning equipment and machinery. All employees must report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw material to a designated manager for immediate resolution. Employees are responsible for fulfilling all other duties as assigned.
