The Asset Maintenance Manager plays a central leadership role within the Engineering Assurance and Compliance Team (EnACT), reporting directly to the Delivery Assurance Lead. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust maintenance systems that support the operational integrity of Portsmouth Naval Base (PNB). A key aspect of the role involves managing the full lifecycle of asset data—from initial registration through to final disposal, within the Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system, ensuring all records are accurate, consistent, and aligned with strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and maintaining comprehensive maintenance plans and strategies that promote asset reliability, performance, and longevity across the estate. Additionally, the role of Maintenance Manager involves implementing best practices, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing asset data through the CAFM system. The Maintenance Manager’s responsibilities encompass conducting site audits, preparing reports for senior management, and developing maintenance plans aligned with asset lifecycles. By integrating predictive maintenance techniques and collaborating with delivery and engineering teams, the manager supports long-term asset sustainability. Additionally, they provide leadership to the CAFM Administrator and Asset Registration Coordinator, ensuring effective data management and departmental performance.

You’ll Have:

The ideal candidate will hold an HNC, HND, or degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline, with a strong foundation in technical principles and practical application. The role demands someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines with confidence and familiarity with the SFG20 maintenance standard would be advantageous, supporting consistent and compliant maintenance planning across Portsmouth Naval Base.

About you:

You’ll be a confident and effective communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills and a professional, customer-focused approach. You’ll also be adept at building strong working relationships across departments and with senior and executive stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust. Highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, you’ll demonstrate strong time management and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
