Maintenance Manager in Gateshead

Job DescriptionJOB PURPOSETo effectively manage the teams across our two North East sites. Reporting to Operations Manager the primary purpose of this role is to keep production at full potential by ensuring machines are maintained to a high standard. Organising labour to ensure smooth running of all production machinery to maximise plant output, quality and efficiencies whilst maintaining high levels of safety and quality.This role is also key in ensuring the site facilities are kept up to BRC standards.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain the production and associated areas in a safe manner, within budgetary controls and in accordance with set standards (BRC/IoP; ISO, H&S)Focus on downtime improvements on machines by reviewing current practices/proceduresProvide information for the business and reports on KPIsLiaise with suppliers and contractors, supervising all servicing of machinery carried out by contractorsProviding technical guidance and support to other members of the teamMaintain good safety, housekeeping and hygiene standards within the departmentTake part in and/or lead projects when requiredLead training and development programmes for the maintenance team and promote good teamwork within the departmentManage the facilities requirements for the plantPerform any other duties as required/instructed by the Operations or Plant ManagerSKILLS/QUALSHNC in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, have a strong work ethic with the desire to succeedExperience (or awareness) of machinery associated with print manufacturing (Komori, Heidelberg, Bobst) or similar manufacturing machines in an FMCG environment,Knowledge and experience of TPM/PPM programmes and 18th or 17th EditionA full clean UK Diving License is essentialBasic use of WordExperience working in a high-speed, high-pressure production environmentDesirable experience:Experience within the Printing IndustryExperience within the Carton Manufacturing IndustryExperience working on Heidelberg Sheet Fed Printing Presses is desirableExperience working on Bobst Cut & Crease Machines and Folder GluersExperience working on Jagenberg & International Folder GluersINTERPERSONAL SKILLSThe ability to work as part of a teamGood problem-solving skillsHave a conscientious and enthusiastic manner with a strong work ethic and the desire to succeedA good general standard of education with basic computer skillsBe able to demonstrate a strong technical and/or engineering competence.Have a disciplined and process-oriented mind setReliablehave a flexible approach to working hoursHighly responsible and conscientiousWork well under pressureGood communicatorPunctual, presentable and with good attendance.Experienced in dealing with pressure and be highly organised with an ability to multi-task and manage ones own time.Pro-active and can-do attitude required.Able to prioritise jobsWorks well in a team and on ones own.TPBN1_UKTJ
