Job Summary:

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations at our dry food packaging facility in Houston. This is not a desk job—you’ll be working side-by-side with your team on the floor, troubleshooting equipment, improving reliability, and making sure production stays on track.

In this role, you'll manage our maintenance program while actively participating in repairs and installations, ensuring that equipment runs safely and efficiently. You'll lead efforts to move from reactive to preventive and predictive maintenance, all while supporting safety, compliance, and cost control goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in daily maintenance and troubleshooting activities across the facility.
  • Be the point person when machines go down—jump in, diagnose issues, and drive solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians and coordinate third-party service providers.
  • Manage equipment repairs, parts inventory, and the maintenance budget.
  • Plan and execute maintenance projects and facility improvements.
  • Implement and improve preventive maintenance systems using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, OSHA, and company safety protocols.
  • Prepare for and support facility audits (internal and external).
  • Lead by example—safety, accountability, and reliability are top priorities.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in food processing, CPG, or high-speed manufacturing.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or lead mechanic role, ideally in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and packaging systems.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting conveyors, bagging machines, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Proficient in CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering , or equivalent technical training and field experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly .

Working Conditions:

  • On the floor in a fast-paced food packaging facility
  • Regular exposure to food-grade materials (e.g., rice, beans, flour, spices)
  • Standing, walking, and lifting may be required for extended periods
  • Must be flexible with scheduling, including overtime and alternating weekends


Work Schedule:

  • 8-10 hours shifts, Monday through Friday and possible weekends.
  • First Shift availability
