Maintenance Manager

Allstaff Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager based in Bedford for a rapidly growing company.

Salary: £65,000 per annum  

Job Location: Bedford

Type of Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm



Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager



Coordinate and allocate shift-based engineering resources.

Manage attendance, discipline, and performance data for the engineering team.

Deliver and maintain the preventative maintenance programme.

Oversee engineering contractors on site, ensuring compliance and quality standards.

Ensure the timely completion of reports, logs, and necessary paperwork.

Identify and manage critical spare parts, including warehousing, stock control, and reordering systems.

Forecast and manage the budget for spare parts, statutory inspections, and condition monitoring.

Analyse skills gaps and define development needs within the team.

Coach and mentor staff to maximise performance and support career development.

Requirements for a successful Maintenance Manager



HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering.

COSHH, SEAR, and PTW trained, with a detailed understanding of safe chemical usage.

Proven experience in conducting risk assessments.

Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing teams and contractors.

Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

Experience in forecasting and budget management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
