Maintenance Manager
A manufacturing company in Gurnee, IL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at its facility. This role involves supervising a team, overseeing capital projects, and ensuring that all equipment and systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and a background in managing preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements of Maintenance Manager

• Job Stability

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 8 years of maintenance management experience in a food manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, CMMS, PLCs, high-speed packaging, and facility operations

• Experience with USDA or FDA-regulated facilities

• Understanding of refrigeration systems, energy management, and electrical systems (including low-voltage applications)

• Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, budgets, and vendor relationships

Responsibilities of Maintenance Manager

• Supervise and support the maintenance team to ensure high performance and safety standards

• Develop and execute maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and optimize operations

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify and address issues

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, and utility components

• Lead capital improvement projects, including budgeting, planning, and execution

• Manage compliance with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inventory, and documentation

• Troubleshoot and maintain automated systems using logic controllers

• Collaborate with production and other departments to align maintenance with operational needs

1st shift, DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $130,000 - $150,000 annually plus a 15% bonus, based on experience
