Maintenance Manager
Job Description
Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who’s ready to make a real impact?
We’re working with a rapidly growing better-for-you meat processor in Northern California that’s rethinking what protein can be — high-quality, clean-label, and responsibly made. This is your chance to join a company that’s not only investing in innovation and growth, but also in you.
They’re looking for a Maintenance Manager who doesn’t just keep the plant running, but who builds the systems, teams, and culture to elevate it.
Why This Role is a Game-Changer:
- Own the Maintenance Strategy: Lead and develop a high-performing team that supports production, facilities, utilities, and capital projects — all in a fast-paced food environment.
- Build from the Ground Up: Champion a full CMMS rollout and transform maintenance into a proactive, data-driven function.
- High Visibility & Impact: Report directly to senior leadership with influence over R&M budgets, capital planning, and plant-wide reliability initiatives.
- Be the Culture Builder: Shape a safety-first, food-safety-compliant, and performance-driven team that takes pride in doing things the right way.
What You’ll Tackle:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a skilled team of technicians
- Execute preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance programs
- Implement and optimize CMMS to track performance and costs
- Oversee utilities, packaging/processing equipment, and building infrastructure
- Manage a 7-figure R&M budget while driving uptime and efficiency
- Lead and execute capital projects from scope to completion
- Reinforce food safety (GMPs, HACCP) and OSHA compliance daily
What You Bring to the Table:
- 7–10+ years in maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, utilities (steam, HVAC), and food processing equipment
- Strong background in CMMS optimization, vendor management, and project execution
- Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and troubleshoot complex systems
- A steady hand under pressure, with a passion for coaching and culture-building
- Engineering degree is a plus — but not required if you bring equivalent experience
Perks & Culture:
- Growth-minded, innovation-driven company culture
- High visibility and autonomy in a mission-critical role
- Competitive pay, performance bonus, and full benefits (medical, dental, retirement)
