Location: Amsterdam, NY
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Jim Burroughs
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking
Hours of Work: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, 7 am – 3:30 pm. Emergency call coverage as required.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for scheduling, training and oversite of maintenance staff. Ability to multi task and work with various departments throughout the agency. Must have good communication and management skills. Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 7 years' experience in building maintenance or Associate Degree in any building trade with 5 years' experience in building maintenance.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
Good working knowledge of all trades.
Excellent communication skills and basic computer usage skills.
Clean NYS driver's license that meets agency standards and reliable transportation
CPR certification required.
Pay Range: The pay range is $60,406 to $80,330
Major Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure that all agency maintenance, work order requests, preventive procedures and construction projects are completed on schedule and according to safety, health, quality, codes and standards as required.
- Coordinate maintenance task with vendors performing Capital Projects at agency sites.
- Provide training for maintenance staff as necessary.
- Monitor agency for unsafe conditions and ensure all safety and health emergencies are handled in a timely manner.
- Ensure agency department vehicles and related equipment are in good working condition and operated in a safe manner at all times.
- Ensure agency vehicles and staff who operate DOT certified department vehicles are in compliance with registration and agency requirements.
- Ensure all agency facilities are in good repair as agreed.
- Ensure all agency facilities are secured as required.
- Ensure all documentation, purchase requisitions, and work orders are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Ensure all tools, equipment and work areas are maintained as required.
- Provide back-up for Assistant Director of Facility Management as necessary.
- Ensure all department/agency policies and procedures are followed.
- Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
- Follow safe operating procedures with regard to use of tools of the trade. This includes the use of knives and cutting devices in the course of work. This position is exempt from the knives restriction as outlined in the Workplace Violence Prevention Policy as knives are considered tools of the trade.
