Job Summary: Maintains the event space, public space and back of the house areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, HVAC/R, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repairs, or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items as directed by management.
- Adheres to the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program.
- Makes records of repairs made, or areas needing further attention.
- Performs various tasks to include but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue as directed by management.
- Maintains the cleanliness of areas repaired or touched up.
- Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues
- Assist coworkers with completion of assignments when needed
- Keep work area clean and well organized
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
- Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Trade school required
- Five or more years of experience in hospitality related industry in similar capacity required.
- Excellent experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of equipment.
- Excellent working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Excellent English communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate simple arithmetic functions and to follow manufacturer’s instructions.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must have a positive attitude about service, teamwork, and motivation to go above and beyond
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop on a consistent basis.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push and pull up to 100 lbs with or without assistance
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to understand directions for using tools and machinery and maintaining safety and sanitation
- Must be able to listen and speak clearly
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all equipment and tools along with other tasks as directed.
