Position Purpose: The Housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas of the property so that property is maintained in a clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly and satisfying condition to prevent the spread of unsanitary conditions and odors. The Housekeeper may be required to perform tasks which involve following the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of assigned areas of facility.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Operates various cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
- Maintains facility in a clean and sanitary condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
- Requires working in damp, dusty and dirty areas.
- Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials. Empties trash containers.
- Handles various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. in compliance with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.
- Plans work schedule for major tasks.
- Damp dusts furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
- Wet mops floors in assigned areas, including bathrooms daily. Damp mops all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily.
- Cleans restrooms, wash basins, mirrors, commodes, counter tops, urinals, tubs, and showers daily. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters.
- Monitors and inspects all assigned areas daily to keep fresh.
- Dust and cleans air vents
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts or screws, etc.).
- Washing windows as scheduled.
- Strips and recoats all floor areas when necessary and as scheduled.
- Checks areas for spills, water, etc. periodically, especially in bathrooms.
- Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
- Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Payrate: Depends on experience
Location: Onsite - Augusta, GA
Schedule: TBD - may include holidays and weekends
Education Requirements
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalency
Experience Requirements
- Housekeeping experience of 1
- Custodial experience of 1 year
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required
Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of passing a background check and drug test
- Must be capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
- Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh from 25 to 50 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
- Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
Environmental Requirements
- Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.
- Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.
- For safety reasons, the employee must remain alert to working conditions and be aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
