Job Description

Overview

The Laborer & Helper is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the proper functioning, cleanliness, and appearance of company facilities and equipment. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in general maintenance, light electrical work, plumbing, painting, and exterior cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on building areas, fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, locks, and appliances.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, and supplies.

Light Electrical

• Install, replace, or repair basic electrical components such as switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, fans, and smoke detectors.
• Follow electrical safety procedures and applicable codes.
• Test and inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation.

Plumbing

• Install, replace, and repair basic plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, and pipes.
• Clear clogged drains and toilets.
• Detect and repair leaks; follow plumbing codes and safety standards.

Painting

• Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
• Apply primer, paint, and sealant.
• Use brushes, rollers, and sprayers to complete finish work.
• Match and mix paint colors as needed.

Exterior Cleaning/Pressure Washing

• Clean and sanitize external surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, and roofs.
• Operate pressure-washing equipment safely and effectively.
• Remove dirt, mold, algae, and stains while following environmental and safety guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of experience in maintenance or a related field .
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Must be at least 19 years of .
