Shift: 1st Shift : 6:30 AM to2:30 PM

Position Description

Performs a variety ofunskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work for the Streets and Landscapingdivisions of Public Works. Tasks include but are not limited to keeping citymaintained landscape free of debris and litter. Assist with material pickup anddelivery, as needed. Aid various work crews on site.

Skills Required

Knowledge of equipmentmaterials, methods and procedures used in field maintenance work. Requires theability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information.Includes receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisors. Ability toperform manual tasks for extended periods of time; ability to work safely;ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees,other departments and the public; ability to understand and carry out writtenand oral instructions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee isregularly required to: use hands and fingers; handle, feel, or operate objects,tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequentlyrequired to stand, talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required towalk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. Theemployee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally liftand/or move up to 100 pounds. Specificvision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depthperception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Experience Required

Previous field maintenanceexperience is desired.

Education Required

High School diploma or GEDequivalent
