We’re working with our client, a well-established recycling and waste processing business, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day running of their site in Rochester.
This is a hands-on role within a busy plant environment, ensuring equipment and machinery are operating safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across plant and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime across the site
- Work on conveyors, shredders, compactors and associated machinery
- Support continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with health and safety standards
- Liaise with contractors and support servicing and compliance activities
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
What we’re looking for:
- Experience within a recycling, waste, manufacturing or process plant environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills
- Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors
- Basic PLC knowledge and fault finding capability
- A hands-on, proactive approach to maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of health and safety within an industrial setting
