Maintenance Engineer | Preston, PR1 1UN | Full Time | Working hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:30 (30 min unpaid lunch), Friday 07:00–13:00 | Competitive Salary\n\nAre you ready to take charge of a busy manufacturing site and make a real impact?\n\nOur client is a UK-based manufacturer and supplier of industrial laminates, composite materials and machined components.\n\nThey are focused on delivering a quality product portfolio, supported by great service, excellent response and best of all, over 155 years’ experience of getting it right.\n\nAre you the right person for the job?\n\nProven track record of scheduled maintenance control\nHealth & Safety conscious at all times\nMechanical maintenance training or experience\nWelding & fabrication training or experience\nExperience with steam boilers and systems, BOAS preferable\nElectrical maintenance training or experience (preferable)\nBuilding/roofing knowledge (preferable)\nIT and PLC networking knowledge (preferable)\nWorking at height experience; PASMA/IPAF certificates preferable\nFull Driving Licence required\nFLT licence advantageous\nStrong problem-solving skills and common sense approach\nProfessional, approachable personality with a focused, can-do attitude\nTeam player who can efficiently manage their own time and support staff\nProficient in Microsoft products and general IT usage\nWhat will your role look like?\n\nAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the whole business, from NC machines to basic plumbing. Based at the Preston site, you will oversee day-to-day maintenance of a busy manufacturing unit, including:\n\nPlant and services maintenance\nControlling the daily preventative maintenance schedule of the manufacturing plant\nLiaising with and managing third-party engineers or contractors for work beyond scope\nProviding support to departments such as Health & Safety, Technical, or Site/Buildings Maintenance\nProcurement for the maintenance department\nReporting directly to the board of directors\nMentoring a trainee/assistant\nWhat’s in it for you?\n\n20 days annual holiday plus bank holidays\nContribution to a Personal Pension Plan\nProfit share scheme\nSick pay scheme\nTraining offered where necessary\nWhat’s next?
