Maintenance Engineer\n\nPortsmouth\n£36,000 - £40,000 per annum\nFull-time, Permanent | 40 hours per week + 1 week in 4 on-call\n\nTeamJobs are proud to be recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading cargo handling company based at Portsmouth International Port.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of the engineering team that keeps one of the UK's busiest deep-water terminals running smoothly - maintaining cranes, forklifts, and a wide range of material handling equipment that move thousands of tonnes of goods every day.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will work across the workshop and port site to ensure all cranes and material handling equipment (MHE) are safe, reliable, and compliant.\n You will carry out inspections, repairs, and maintenance, as well as support out-of-hours breakdowns as part of the on-call rota.\n\nYour key duties will include:\n\nPerforming mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance on cranes and MHE\n\nDiagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly and effectively\n\nCompleting service reports and maintaining compliance documentation\n\nSupporting other engineering and facility operations when needed\n\nWorking safely and proactively to keep operations moving\n\nAbout You\n\nWe are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems and keeping complex equipment in top condition.\n\nYou'll need:\n\nExperience with mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems\n\nBackground maintaining cranes, forklifts, or similar heavy plant equipment\n\nRecognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nA proactive, positive, and safety-focused approach\n\nExperience in ports, marine, or industrial environments is desirable but not essential - training and support are provided.\n\nWhy Join\n\nCompetitive salary up to £40,000\n\nCompany vehicle and on-call allowance\n\nWork within a close-knit, supportive engineering team\n\nBe part of a key business supporting UK imports and logistics\n\nOngoing training and professional development\n\nReady to take your engineering career to the next level?\n\nApply today and one of our recruitment specialists at TeamJobs will be in touch to discuss your application.\n\nINDCP
