Job Description

Dunning, near Perth

£50–55k + Bonus (DoE)

Simon Howie Foods is one of Scotland’s leading food brands, producing premium sausages, burgers and black pudding from our modern site in Dunning. We’re investing and growing and we need a strong Maintenance Engineer to support that.

The Role

You’ll join a small, hands-on engineering team, reporting to our Senior Engineer and Operations Director.

This is a practical role focused on keeping production moving through:

• Reactive and planned maintenance
• Electrical fault-finding (including 3-phase)
• Mechanical repairs and improvements
• Supporting PLC-controlled equipment
• Driving reliability and continuous improvement
• Ensuring compliance with HSE and food safety standards

No two days are the same — you’ll be problem-solving on the floor, not sitting behind a desk.

About You

• Qualified Electrical Engineer / Technician / Time-served Electrician
• Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical skills
• Experience in manufacturing or production
• Calm under pressure and solution-focused
• Experience in the Food Industry preferrable but not necessary
