We're working on behalf of a long-established and reputable manufacturing business based in Bath, who are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to join their on-site engineering team on a temporary basis for 8-12 months.



This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance to take on a varied role involving fault finding, machinery repair, installations, and site maintenance.



The Role:



As part of the maintenance department, you'll be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of a range of machinery, equipment, and facilities. The role offers exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the opportunity to continually develop their technical skills.



Key Duties:



Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime

Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical faults

Assisting with machine installation, upgrades, and fabrication work

Maintaining accurate records and reporting on completed jobs

Working with engineers and team leads to resolve production issues

Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation

Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standardsWorking Hours:



Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:00 or 07:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday and Fridays 07:00-12:00 or 07:30 - 12:30



Ideal Candidate:



Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role

Time-served or apprentice-trained in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics (desirable)

Confident working from technical drawings and following structured procedures

Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces

Able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team

Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems

IT literate with basic understanding of Outlook, Word, and ExcelKey Attributes:
