Maintenance Engineer - Electrical

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Permanent Maintenance Engineer to join our clients business based in Newcastle.

Role: Permanent - Maintenance Engineer , Electrical Bias



Salary: Around the £30,000 per year mark depending on experience

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday 07.00-15.30

Mission



Repair, adjust and maintain production equipment, machinery or instruments to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications to the highest Environmental, Health and Safety Standards



Accountabilities



Respond to break-downs and other operating problems and complete planned maintenance activities to minimise disruptions to manufacturing processes



Attend machines to assess planned maintenance activities and diagnose breakdowns

Establish a safe working area

Communicate with machine operators to attain information relating to the deviations

Assess the need to isolate

Advise production supervisors of expected duration of work if possible

Undertake appropriate repairs to machinery

Instruct machine operators to test machinery on completion of maintenance activity

Maintain tools and repair equipment to ensure good working orderMaintain detailed maintenance records so that Health and Safety is ensured and recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts can be identified and addressed



Complete work order documents with the relevant information relating to the required maintenance activity

Complete take 2s and raise permits to work when the need to isolate occurs

Sign off permits when reengaging power

Liaise with machine operators to sign off completed work orders

Capture all maintenance activities in relevant recording system

Complete appropriate audits on maintenance equipment

Feedback to the relevant individuals on proposed improvements to machinery, operator competence and/or any other relevant informationSet, calibrate or adjust equipment, machinery and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions



Measure product lengths and angles

Identify opportunities to maximise product utilisation within British Standards

Respond to observations from machine operators on product calibration

Input corrections into operating system

Recheck product for new calibration changesTechnical Competencies
