Job Title: Maintenance Engineer\n\nLocation: London\n\n Salary: £44,00 -£56,000 per annum (Umbrella)\n\nEmployment Type: 3 Months (Candidates must be flexible and willing to work across different project locations within London as required)\n\nHours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm\n\nThis role is part of a London-based resource team providing support across multiple projects. The initial assignment is expected to be for approximately three months. Whilst there is a strong pipeline of work, future assignments will be dependent on project requirements and business demand, meaning there may be short gaps between placements.

\n\nCandidates must be flexible and willing to work across different project locations within London as required. \n\nDue to the flexible and project-based nature of the opportunity, this role may particularly suit experienced contractors, semi-retired professionals, retirees looking to remain active within the industry, or individuals seeking interim assignments rather than long-term. Candidates should be comfortable with periods of project work that may vary in duration and start dates.

\n\nHeating pipework networks, heat metering equipment and boilers. \n\nYou'll also assist the Operations & Maintenance lead engineers to help plan, co-ordinate and complete maintenance activities, both mechanical and electrical, that impact/are likely to impact on the operational performance of the District Heating Network. The aim is to reduce unplanned unavailability keeping our customers on supply 24/7 and improve the performance of the assets while ensuring all major costs are identified early in the process to assist with Business planning.

\n\nExperience and Qualifications - Essential / Desirable \n\nAchieved a minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. \nCommercial Gas Safe Certificates including COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A and CODNCO1, or equivalent. \nExperience of working on commercial boilers.

\nExperience and knowledge of the installation, inspection and testing, maintenance of District Heating systems and all associated plant. \nExperience and knowledge associated with the safe isolation and re-commissioning of plant / pipework / electrical systems. \nExperience of IT communications systems.

\nThe ability to look for best practise, innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve the plant operational and commercial performance. \nBasic health and safety knowledge and competence in hazard identification, risk assessment and management of risks. \nContract Engagement skills and experience to appropriately challenge contractors on the methods, quality and standards of work.

\nExcellent understanding of the commercial and financial effects of plant operation. \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships, deliver expert advice and influence at all levels. \nMust hold a full UK driving license.

Desirable \n\nExperience of working on commercial chillers \nExperience of working on commercial heat pumps.
