Job Title: Multiskilled Maintenance EngineerSalary: £45,000 - £50,000Location: Blackburn, LancashireOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing environment on a permanent basis.Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure machinery downtime is minimised through effective preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution within a fast-paced FMCG setting.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site machinery and production equipmentDiagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on food processing equipmentRespond quickly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operationsRecord all maintenance activities to support fault tracking and continuous improvementLiaise with engineering leadership to ensure availability of appropriate spare partsConduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrenceSupport continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and maintenance processesMentor and support other engineers to deliver high-quality service to productionChampion health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activitiesAssist with building maintenance and site engineering projects as requiredSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer within an FMCG or manufacturing environmentStrong electrical and mechanical engineering capability on production machineryExperience with PLC fault finding and process control systemsAbility to understand and support electrical control systems from switchgear through to implementationStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a proactive approachExperience in executing preventative maintenance strategiesKnowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and GMP standards within food manufacturingStrong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teamsExperience with CMMS systems and maintenance trackingDriven to deliver continuous improvement and engineering best practiceEssential QualificationsEngineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualificationBTEC / ONC / HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringIdeally 18th Edition Wiring RegulationsDesirable ExperienceExperience within food manufacturing or FMCG sectorsKnowledge of continuous improvement methodologiesExperience supporting internal H&S audits and complianceRole DetailsEmployment Type: PermanentWorking Hours: 4 on 4 off shift patternLocation: BlackburnSalary: £45,000 - £50,000How to ApplyPlease submit your CV along with your availability.For more information, please contact:Charlie Boulton01453 852544Omega is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
