Maintenance Engineer

An established global manufacturing business who provides products and services to an assortment of industries throughout the world, has a newly created opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join one of their leading sites in the UK. The business is part of a multi-billion operation and the site in Birmingham has received a lot of investment and complete refurbishment. They provide their products to many industries, but one of the key areas of focus for them within the West Midlands is the Automotive sector. Salary to £40k to £45k per annum with additional shift allowance of £3556.44, overall package circa £50k Hours of work - Double Day shift, Week 1 6am to 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 11am Friday, Week 2 - 2pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday and 11am to 4pm Friday



The main purpose of the position is to ensure that maintenance work is completed so that production can continue with minimum disruption, to agreed timescales and order priority. To manage the department resource to best effect. Key objectives are to ensure job sheets are completed correctly on a daily/weekly basis and entered on to the maintenance database. Offer support to associate departments as required and to check level of consumable stock to ensure that sufficient quantities are maintained.



Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:



Supporting other Maintenance Engineers in their day-to-day role

Working closely with technical support, TPM engineers, quality engineers and manufacturing engineers

Promote safe working practices by ensuring appropriate use of PPE etc.

Maintain a healthy working environment through 5C and TPM

Work with specialist equipment

Support new machine introductions

Carry out improvements and preventative maintenance on automated production lines

Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment/ machine faults

Provide breakdown support to manufacturing areas of the business

Carry out fault finding activities on all manufacturing equipment and facilities incorporating electrical, robotics, PLC and HMI

Continuous improvements process to production equipment and machines



Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer:



Experienced Maintenance Engineer

HNC qualified in Electrical Engineering or Level 3 trained.

Electrical bias is essential, although multi skilled competencies are required across both disciplines

Apprentice trained engineer

PLC trained with experience on servo motors and drives
