Maintenance Engineer

Talent Guardian is on the hunt for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a forward-thinking food manufacturing team in Widnes. You’ll work across a mix of legacy and modern machinery—from Hammac Hansella to Klick Lock machines —keeping production running smoothly and driving continuous improvement.



This is a standalone role where you’ll report directly to the MD, Finance, and Ops Managers. Your decisions will shape the shop floor and directly impact performance.



Key Responsibilities:



Diagnosing PLC and electrical issues to keep downtime at a minimum

Servicing pneumatics (air pistons, solenoids, etc.) and mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings)

Welding & fabricating when needed for repairs and upgrades

Installing and commissioning new equipment

Keeping VFFS machines running like clockwork

Ensuring maintenance meets BRC/SALSA standards

Owning technical specs and driving process improvement What we are looking for:



FMCG or food manufacturing background

A proven track record in electrical/mechanical fault-finding (PLC savvy is a must)

Experience with pneumatics and mechanical systems

Welding/fabrication skills

Quality-first mindset, with knowledge of BRC/SALSA standards What's in it for you:
